ANGELA HUNTSMAN, SWT

Angela Huntsman (pronouns: she/her) is a social worker trainee who works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Her specialty interests include: adjustment and life transitions, homelessness, maternal and child welfare, and trauma-informed care. She utilizes treatment approaches that are client-centered and strength-based, while also incorporating evidence-based practices to meet the unique needs of those she serves.

Angela completed her advanced education at The University of Akron, earning a bachelor’s degree in social work. She is currently a master’s student at her alma mater completing a degree in social work. Her graduate education has included specialized coursework in mental health, social policy, and clinical practice. Through her academic program, she is gaining hands-on experience in community-based settings that serve vulnerable populations. Angela is committed to lifelong learning and continuing to grow as a compassionate and effective social worker.

Beyond her clinical work, Angela works as a Case Manager at Summit County Job and Family Services where she supports individuals and families in navigating public assistance programs. While gaining clinical experience, her role has allowed her to work closely with diverse populations facing complex social and economic challenges. This experience has strengthened her commitment to advocacy, empathy, and connecting clients to meaningful resources. Angela is eager to build on this foundation in clinical settings.

Angela’s approach to counseling is grounded in a person-centered and trauma-informed perspective. She strives to build trust, empower clients, and foster mutual respect within the therapeutic relationship. Angela believes that healing begins when individuals feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported without judgment. She dedicates herself to being a compassionate listener and collaborative supporter to create a safe and welcoming space for all clients.
